Jean also completed her Independent Registered Nurse Patient Advocacy (iRNPA) certification with RN Patient Advocates, PLLC and University of Arizona.
Jean had her epiphany of the need for Private Patient Advocacy while sitting in an ICU waiting room, waiting for her mother to return from the Operating Room, following mom’s Open Heart Surgical procedure.
Jean couldn’t help but overhear the conversations between families and physicians, and the discussion amongst family members that occurred after the interaction with the physician.
Jean clearly determined that families didn’t understand what the physician was trying to tell them, despite an attempt to be clear and concise. Jean was able to help families make solid decisions that day and realized how important breaking down information into understandable pieces, helps stressed out families make better decisions about the care of their loved ones.
